About Me

About Me

I have over 20 years of experience working with individuals and families in different roles, presenting various issues. I spent my early years advocating and counseling for children and families diagnosed with developmental and intellectual disorders. I serve individuals/families across life stages challenged with symptoms associated with depression, anxiety, and stress-related experiences in my practice. I also serve families and provide parent training and support. I have a particular interest in helping adolescents and teens with personal growth and family issues. I do not take on clients whom I cannot help using the techniques I have available.

I am passionate about helping others discover their potential and life purpose. In my practice, I prefer to use a Strength-based and Solution Focused approach to counseling. However, I pull from a variety of theories and models to fit your needs.

I work to best understand your perspective, provide empathetic listening, and teach skills to build resiliency against depression, anxiety, and trauma. I have a unique understanding of cultural issues that often impact how we live. I work from the perspective that we are influenced and impacted by the people and situations in our lives. Understanding how these relationships and events affect us, helps us to better understand our behavior and allow for positive growth. I believe that through working together, each individual/family has the capacity to develop skills that promotes living a meaningful, healthy, and purpose-filled life.
